5/5 – Excellent book and required reading for any new Tech Lead or Engineering Manager. Helped me understand my place and purpose as I stepped into Management - An Elegant Puzzle: Systems of Engineering Management – Will Larson
5/5 – Incredibly useful, describes most of the systems you’ll be working with or developing in engineering management. Even if it doesnt provide answers it shows what you should be thinking about - Working Backwards – Colin Bryar, Bill Carr
4/5 – The first half of this book describes some very interesting concepts, the 6 pager, the bar raiser etc. that were implemented at amazon as the company grew and developed. While you may not implement any of it yourself the reasons behind them are interesting and worth thinking about. - Self Leadership and the One Minute Manager – Ken Blanchard
3/5 – Presented in an extremely cheesy way there are a few good things to take away from this about stages of learning and using others expertise/working as a team - Powerful: building a culture of freedom and responsibility – Patty McCord
4/5 – Interesting read with lots to think about regarding culture and leadership/systems within an organisation to promote it.
